Meet Ruma Sengupta
The Home Cook Behind Recipe Mystic
Hi, Iโm Ruma Sengupta, the home cook and creator behind Recipe Mystic.
My love for cooking grew from the warmth of family kitchens and the recipes that bring people together around the dining table. After marriage, I became especially inspired by the cooking traditions and recipes shared within my family, including the flavours and techniques that make Bengali home cooking so special.
Over time, cooking became more than simply preparing a meal for me. It became a way of preserving memories, exploring flavours, and sharing happiness through food.
Today, through Recipe Mystic, I share recipes that I enjoy making and that I believe can work beautifully in a real home kitchen.
I donโt believe great food always requires complicated ingredients or professional equipment. Sometimes, the simplest ingredients, when cooked patiently and thoughtfully, can create the most memorable meals.

Clear Instructions Cooking steps are written to help you understand not only what to do, but also when a dish is ready.
Practical Cooking Tips Small details such as cooking temperature, texture, timing and visual doneness cues can make a big difference.
Homemade Flavour The focus is on comforting food that feels familiar and satisfying.
Tradition with a Practical Approach Traditional flavours can be preserved while explaining the recipe in a way that works for todayโs home kitchen.
How We Develop Our Recipes
From Kitchen to Recipe
A recipe should be more than a list of ingredients.
When developing or preparing a recipe, we focus on the important details that help a home cook achieve a good result.
1. Prepare
We gather the ingredients and organize the cooking process.
2. Cook
We pay attention to cooking time, temperature, texture and flavour.
3. Taste & Adjust
Seasoning and consistency can vary depending on ingredients and personal preference, so practical adjustments are noted when useful.
4. Document
Important cooking steps, tips and serving ideas are turned into clear instructions.
5. Share
The final recipe is presented in an easy-to-follow format so you can recreate it in your own kitchen.
